Vegas...rated PG

So I should just say that when I say Vegas done PG...I mean it. Anyone that knows me, knows that a Vegas trip that I am involved in, will not have some CRAZY stories of things we don't remember, missing clothing, or a hospital wrist band (to steal a scene from hangover)

But, the reason for this PG rating is due to the pic below. We did do some gambling (during the day mind you) and there was some dancing by a very, half dressed smiley girl who was throwing beads at us.

Birthday dinner at the ever beautiful Venetian.

Le Reve...french for The Dream, and a very unique show at the Wynn. I could see shows every night. If someone wants to sponsor me in that venture, send me an email.

These were a huge part of our trip. Mostly for Jen and myself. So we did present Summer with the smartest packer award and she (and her feet) seemed to be blister and rubbing free in all her shoes.

Yes, these are my feet....and yes, we took a taxi home that night.

Happy trio. There always needs to be a self taken-squeeze in-double chin exposed picture taken on every trip.

Can someone hook me up for a stay at the Wynn? I think it might have been my favorite on the strip.

Closest I'll get to Italy. So soak it in Lindsey!

We honestly took turns sleeping on this self engineered chair bed. We wanted an upgrade rooms, but there was no rooms available on St. Patty's day/March madness in March. So we all took one for the team, and I now need chiropractic appointments, but whatever.

We had a such a great time...full of laughter, shopping, delicious food, and memories.

"Meet me at the Palms"..right girls?

31 came and went...

But not without some gorgeous spring skiing and lots of fun. What is missing from these pictures you might say to yourself?

I do not see children present...either set that belongs to Summer or me. They were having fun with the daddy's and the mommy's got to enjoy this....

Although we missed our adorable children, Summer and I enjoyed our rather, quick, complain-free, when you stop to go to the bathroom..that is really all you do, car ride. Not to mention eating at a place called The Chocolate Bar in Northstar village where we really focused on the dessert rather than the main meal and we were okay with that. Chocolate and skiing compliment each other well.

I have had enough of them

We are Yankee haters in this house and we dress our kids accordingly. When Drew does wear this in public, he either gets the thumbs up and "love the shirt" quote or my son is booed. Drew thinks they are trying to be scary ghosts and just says BOO! back to them. That's my boy.

I need some love

I am considering retiring from doing this blog. Would any one out there really care? Really? I need some blog love people. Something to keep me going.

If you ever read this blog, even glance once in a while, tell me who you are blog stalker. Please reveal yourself by leaving a comment. Remember...I am an out of the closet blog stalker myself. All I need is a little love.

Thanks.....

Is summer over?

I guess with September here, school starting, and the fall TV line up appearing on my television set.... then summer is over.

We took another little field trip to the SF zoo at the end of summer. The kids enjoyed it and all Drew wanted to do was find a grasshopper. Okay...the kid that hates bugs and never gets very close. But there was a insect zoo that we found and his bug request was granted. Lilly was just happy to see whatever animal was around.

Lilly happily helped Todd push the stroller.

They enjoyed watching the bears swim. This was the closest we got to any animal that day. I have heard I need to try the Oakland zoo and we will. With that said, the SF zoo is seeing very empty these days, so it was a treat to actually see the bears up close.

This is a very concerned look by Lilly when the train blew it's whistle.

The hit of the day for Drew was getting to make a regular penny into a special penny. We all know that machine that flattens out the penny and puts a print of your choice on it instead. "I hold my monies" Drew said all day.

We did ride the train, and I covered Lilly's ears when the whistle blew so she wouldn't jump off the moving train.

At the insect zoo they chose which creature to become. Drew not really center, but just pretend he is for better effect.

And then there was the wedding. The wedding that Todd got ordained online to perform for a close friend of his from college. Does the Pastor usually bust a move on the dance floor?

It was so fun for Todd and I to have some adult time. Here is a list of things I didn't do for three days while we on this little trip down to San Diego:

I didn't do dishes
I didn't change a diaper
I didn't get up in the middle of the night to console a child from a bad dream.
I didn't clean.

Things I did do:
Sleep in
Eat out every meal
Finish a glass of wine
Shop at an outlet mall that was sent from angels

The bride and groom- Misty and Eric

Todd performing the ceremony. He got many laughs and many snivels at the appropriate times.

Funny story about this picture. Notice how Todd was not in a tuxedo and standing on the very end. Eric did not ask him to wear a tuxedo. So the photographer kept asking Eric, "do you want this guy in the suit in this picture?" HA Todd was always on the end like a guest of the wedding creeping in the groomsmen pictures. We got a good laugh about this.

We were very happy to get home. We missed the kids. We missed our bed. Amen.

There is hope.

Don't worry everyone. This blog is not turning into a book review critic corner or anything like that, but I have finished my first book since the Twilight series. This is a BIG deal over here at the Petersen house. Some might even use the word monumental. This is to give others hope. There are other books out there that are very enjoyable and bring new things to the reader. I finished the book below and am already well into the second in the series.

There is hope.

But don't worry, what is gone(or finished) is not forgotten.

Twilight Party 2009

So the planning of this party has been in the works for a while now. For those of you who don't like this topic, then stop reading now and go do something that you feel is more productive. For the rest of you, continue reading and receive the feeling of pure joy.

Most of us attending this party hoped Edward would grace us with his presence, and he did....in the movie. But we didn't just get together and watch the movie. There was much more.

The talented Elissa was my co-hoster to this party. Her vision was one that was truly remarkable. I say that to get a laugh, but honestly it is true. We mapped out ideas, gathered information, categorized folders, had "business" meetings, abandoned our families(this is only partially true), but most of all just had a fun time together.

The very popular front door. I think I heard the most compliments on this aspect of the party. The grand entrance making the very important first impression. Many photo-ops were taken here.

See what I am saying about vision? Elissa really made this entrance what it was...amazingly awesome.

Aimee, who probably traveled the furthest to get to the party and with the youngest guest(a seven week old little girl), took many of these outstanding photos. As you will see in upcoming posts, her artistic eye and camera documented this event so well. I hope it was worth the long drive Aimee!

....Continuing Twilight

Everyone who attended got the Twilight Soundtrack plus some other related Twilight songs. Those who are familiar with these books know why we love forks.

This was the game we played. Aimee took this shot and edited it with the captions(thanks Aimee) You might have to click to enlarge to see the captions, but the categories were really just for a laugh, and way more interesting to say then the book titles.

I have to say that it was a close game in the end. It really came down to Final Jeopardy and The Forkers ended up pulling off the win, but not because they were closest(it was a number answer) but because they just didn't go over. All three teams showed true promise with Twilight trivia. Melody and Aimee were slightly "bell happy" with the ringing in, but they did get the right answer most of the time. I am sorry to say in the end though, they were not going home with the basket of goodies.

I need to say for the record that NOT ALL OF THESE are mine, just majority. And now let me say that I received some as gifts. And lastly, I wear them mostly around the house, but occasionally out in public.

The Food spread.....all things related to Twilight.

"Is she even Italian?"
"Her Name is Bella."

So, yes we had Italian Food

If there is such thing...ohh wait there is. Bella wine. It was served.

Yes...I am still talking about the Twilight Party

The very planned out and detail orientated display of each book in the series/saga. Every book had a tangible item that accompanied it along with a quote and picture. It was like re-living the books again and to every one that came to this party.....I believe enjoyed looking back.

The beautiful wedding cake that Elissa made. What did you ask? What was on the inside? Red Velvet of course. See what I am saying about the details?

I was the game show host. Sometimes I think I missed my calling in this department. One day...I will get on TV. But until then, I make up games and host them at parties. Laugh all you want.

Jen and I in our black and white dresses with red accessories. I have to publicly thank Jen for being the one to encourage me to "just read the first couple chapters of Twilight" which little did anyone know(especially my husband) that my life would never be the same.

Here is a picture of the winning team from the game...The Forkers. I really just have to include this picture because of Summer rocking the red feathered boa. Thank you Summer....and that tells me you are ready for a pole-dancing class. We will get that on the calendar.

I kind of feel like I am accepting an award for the best Twilight Party of the year(and if there was such a contest I would hope we would at least be nominated), but there are thank you's that need to be said:

First and foremost to the fans, or those who attended and make it a party to begin with.

Secondly to my mom and dad who opened their lovely house to us and our decorating...and more importantly their 52 inch flat screen to watch the movie on.

Thirdly to Aimee for taking some of these wonderful shots. For those of you that want to read her version of the party click on my side bar where it says The Fredy Family.

Fourthly to Elissa. We made a team like Edward and Bella. I read minds and you fall down stairs often. Seriously though, thanks for taking on this party with me and seeing every detail through to the end. If you interested in Elissa's take on the party click on Busy Me busy with three on my side bar.

Lastly to Todd who put up with it all.

THE END
