Happy Easter!

The best present the Easter bunny could bring for these two is each other......

How many Easter Egg hunts can two children have?

Let me highlight a few....

There was my parents house, where they found some Easter goodies. Giant eggs, play cash registers w/ play money(HUGE hit)and a variety of other gifts.

Well..if you lived in Sonoma County, you know you had to go to plan B for hiding eggs outside due to the stormy, windy, freezing weather. So the inside Egg hunt began.

There was church

Lilly was NOT into the giant Easter Bunny wandering around...so that kind of hindered her from getting many eggs. The expression below tells about her dislike for the giant, walking, big toothed bunny.

Drew expression when seeing the amount of eggs in his line of vision.

I heard someone say that day..."its more like an egg pick up than an egg hunt" I could not agree anymore as you see below

Drew eyeing the older kids section.

The joys of running....such a simple and glorious thing for Lilly.

At preschool
, the kids were eagerly awaiting directions from teacher Michelle to hear what the "rules" were.

I'm not sure if you would call these eggs hidden, but we will roll with it.

The moment of truth where you got to see what was in the egg.

There was way too much chocolate consumed in these couple days, and luckily Lilly and Drew are young enough to not notice when it goes missing suddenly in the middle of the night.

Christmas 2009 in 2010

Has this post lost all relevance due to the date? What a slacker I am these days.

Well, I first want to say Merry late Christmas to everyone who is a Petersen Blog reader. Remember our Christmas last year? So with having a moment to ponder on the puke, we were happy that we could just say Merry snotty Christmas to everyone this year. I will take cold any day over puke...agreed? Agreed.

Lilly started off Christmas Eve with decorating herself. I have a sinking suspicion that my brother had something to do with this though.

Enjoying seeing the night through a video camera on Auntie Doe Doe's back. Ohh, Todd and I get the worst parents of the year award because about two minutes into taping the Christmas festivities on Christmas Eve...."TAPE ENDED" flashes on our video camera. So no footage(that we own the copy rights too) was documented by us on either day. I could have sworn WALMART was open on Christmas day(maybe I was being too optimistic there) but no such luck to buy new tapes for recording.

Have we not all been caught on film looking like this before? I love this picture.

I equally love this shot of Drew. What pure and true happiness as he rips back the paper to his....to be revealed later in this post.

Laugh all you want...but this gift was one of the favorites for Lilly this year. Check it out. You think I would be happy about this, right?

I just wish that vacuum had some real suction power and I would be even happier.

Seriously..hard at work. Loves this cleaning set. She sleeps with the duster and broom on certain days, okay?

So much wonderful gifts to open!!

Lilly wanted to sit on Matti's lap to open his gift to her.

And......Matti helped us get ready for our trip to Disneyland one of these years. I mean, who does not like a Mickey mouse suitcase with rollers? Inside was a travel pillow, blanket, and flashlight. So maybe more of a camping gift, but I do not plan on telling Lilly and Drew about camping any time soon. Translation, "I don't like to camp"

You think Drew has enough McQueen accessories?

Which brings us to Christmas morning

While Lilly was sleeping in that morning, Drew was happy to set up (with Todd of course) his Lightening McQueen remote control track.

Lilly and Drew were so adorable that morning. Drew was ready to dive in and Lilly wanted to wait and watch.

So excited..look at her face.

What is with kids and marble mazes? They could do this for days.

We spent the late afternoon on Christmas day with the Petersen side and had a great time. And thanks to Nana and Boppa, Lilly and Drew are the proud new owner's of-

Seriously....they LOVE these cameras. There will be another post just dedicated to what pictures have been taken by my kids in the not too distant future.

The four cousins.....Such a cute shot, but Drew was really not feeling well that day, so he was more worried about the snot running from his nose and constant stream of tears from his watery eyes.

We are so thankful and blessed by our Christmas of 2009

(but being recapped in the New Year of 2010. What happened to being an over achiever...has that been lost in the New Year already?)

Does Fedex get up to the north pole?

So we wrote our letters to Santa...what was written in these letters will be disclosed on this blog at a later date. I will say that the kids dictated to me exactly what was written down on these letters which proved to be rather entertaining.

So when asked where does Santa live, they both told me the north pole, but Drew also added the chimney.(I know..I know I spelled that wrong on the envelope. I don't think Santa attended high school though, so he won't know the difference)

We went to the town green and looked at the many beautifully decorated Christmas Trees. Can you tell how freezing it was that day?? Drew would barely hold up his letter to show me.

I love Windsor for this reason....

Will we get a response from Santa? Time will tell, won't it?

It's the most wonderful time of the year.....

Let me just tell you that there is an energy and excitement around our house with Christmas in the air. Every morning, every car ride, every dinner conversation, Drew says, "It's Christmas time MAMA!" Yep...it has been confirmed he is our kid now. The verdict is still out on Lilly :-)

Lilly led the way during our Christmas tree shopping. Whatever tree her sticks touched was going to be the tree. She kept changing her mind though, so we were patient.

Once the tree was home, Drew was very happy to help with the ornaments and unwrap each one to see what would be revealed.

Drew wanted the star and snowflake ornaments to go high up on the tree like, "they are in the sky"

Lilly joined in with her brother and shared some sweet moments decorating together.

Lilly was very proud of her choice of placement of all the red ornaments.

Just to give you a closer look at the spacing. Well done Lilly. Well done.

Happy Thanksgiving!

***

These are direct quotes
"I am thankful for lots of chocolate cookies, lightening McQueen who drives really fast, the ambulances who say 'wee -hoo wee-hoo', and I have one last thing.....my school"

***
"I am thankful for ice cream, hide and seek, the doggies in the houses say 'woof-woof', and Little Einsteins."

Todd and I are thankful for our Drew and Lilly.
