Is it in their DNA?

Drew told me he had to go poop as I was washing dishes the other day. So, I used my wet, soapy hands as an excuse to work on some independence skills for Drew. I told him he could go poop by himself and gave him instructions on how to do so(I obviously still help with the wiping) He has always been one to enjoy his privacy, so when he closed the door, I knew he was getting settled in the bathroom. So quite a while later I realized he never called me, and the door was still shut, so this is what I saw when I slowly pushed the door open.

He proceeded to tell me he was "not done yet"(even though I know he was)and continued to read his Toys R Us magazine

A song to live by....

Does this song go under the lullaby category? Well we use it as a lullaby often.

Happy Thanksgiving!

***

These are direct quotes
"I am thankful for lots of chocolate cookies, lightening McQueen who drives really fast, the ambulances who say 'wee -hoo wee-hoo', and I have one last thing.....my school"

***
"I am thankful for ice cream, hide and seek, the doggies in the houses say 'woof-woof', and Little Einsteins."

Todd and I are thankful for our Drew and Lilly.

A new trend and one that I personally am not that into

Lilly getting naked during nap time.

Who else does this? You know who you are out there...just confess.

Note to Todd

Don't give Lilly gum, even if it is the smallest of pieces. Would this technically be her first hair cut??

A new hobby, a future job, a birthday gift

So golf clubs and golfing has been added to Lilly and Drew's activity list. Nana and Boppa gifted Drew and Lilly with real, genuine, toddler-as-you-grow golf clubs. We are lucky enough to live within a 10 minute walk of Windsor Golf Course and are practicing often.

So Drew(so far) has seem to take the biggest interest in golfing. He LOVES it.

This is what Drew does when we tell him to "keep his eye on the ball"

This is his Tiger Woods impression look right after he just missed a long put. Imagine Drew saying something like, "Oh you darn ball and green." I am not sure if that is what Tiger Woods says, especially knowing he is the most fined(for cussing and other bad behavior) golfer usually each year.

This is where Drew typically placed the ball if he had a choice before putting. I mean it does increase your success rate..that is for sure

Lilly stuck with it for a entire 10 minutes.....

Then developed a new game involving the sand trap....

Followed by investing her time in golf maintenance.

Hmmmm, this is a first. Tweet Tweet

So the kids were nicely playing(which does not happen that often these days)in the back yard today. I was in and out of the house as they played and I started to hear the cutest game of what I would call "tweet tweet" bird game. There are lots of pretend games at our house and at their age....so I was not thinking anything of it. I hear Drew saying, "Here Lilly. Tweet Tweet" and Lilly saying "Tweet tweet Drew, you hold it" So about 5-10 minutes later, I am curious as to what is keeping their attention and not causing any fighting.

This is what Lilly was holding high up in the sky as I came around the corner to the side yard.

RIP Tweetie

Should I thank Frankie, our cat, for this special gift?

A...B..._____

So I am behind on posting the "letter of the days" as we call them around here, although we work on them for a week or so.

We read many books on cats, and then created some of our own.

I just have to share that Drew decided to draw poo-poo coming out of his Kitty's bottom. Awesome Drew.

We made a 5-minute Chocolate Cake.

Not really that pretty, I know. And if I was honest, it wasn't really all that great either, but if the ingredients are chocolate, sugar, coco, and chocolate chips I think my kids will eat it.

C week brought us our first family game night now that Lilly and Drew tuned three, they can play CandyLand. We had a great time playing, but Todd and I were reminded how LONG these games are. If you play it correctly and honestly, we could be playing that forever.

Just for the record...Drew has won fair and square every single time we have played. He somehow always gets the double color cards or pulls the princess frosting(or whatever her name is) and catapults close to the finish line. He is very proud.

Drew will not put him down or stop saying at the top of his lungs, "To infity and ooonnnnnnnnnnnnn"

Halloween comes and goes...

The kids started out Halloween with a cute trick or treat/scavenger hunt at school out at the park by their school. It was orange and black day and everyone was very excited waiting to get the green light to go out to the park. **Please note Drew's new buzz cut given to him by his father...with clippers...he did great!

Sadly Nemo fell ill to a fever and could not go out swimming in the ocean of Halloween. She stayed come and answered the door and really enjoyed seeing all the costumes. As the story goes, Lilly would get a little spooked by the scary masks. BUT.... she would still run really quickly up to them, throw the candy in their bags and run away like speeding bullet yelling, "that scares me, that scares me"

Peter Pan was in high spirits and ready to take on Captain Hook for the evening. He loved getting into character and told many strangers to "watch out for the hook!" or "the pirate ship is mine!"

He braved every house by himself and rang the doorbell all by himself. Even at times walked into the strange houses looking for ????????? I don't know, his sister? It was sad with out Lilly. Drew missed her.

One of the best giggles of the night took place when Drew went up to a house where it was the on-your-honor-take-just-one-basket was left on the front porch. As the adults in our group were in the midst of conversations with each other, Drew made the trek up the long drive way to find the basket. When Drew came back, he decided to leave his relatively empty Halloween bag on the porch and take the FULL basket of candy down the driveway instead. It was a good laugh for us and smart on his part.
