Hello blogosphere!
Some may know me, some may not. But I am affectionately referred as Yaya by Drew and Lilly. Now, I am not a Grandmother has the Greek definition of “Yaya” implies but rather Todd’s younger sister.
When it comes to Christmas presents I like to think outside the box. I like to arrange “memories” with my little ones. This year I decided it was time for Lilly to experience her first pedicure and for Drew to polish up his mini golf skills.
First was Lilly’s special day. I picked up an excited little girl and we went to Mary’s Pizza and feasted on meatballs and breadsticks. During our time at Indulgence Nail Spa, Lilly sat in complete awe of the magic that was unfolding before her eyes: foot soaking, nail filing, purple painted toes and the best surprise of all … a little flower on both her big toes. I loved watching my little Lilly be such a “big girl” and the sweet glance she would give me to see if she was doing it right.
Drew’s special day was next. We dined at the finest of establishments, Burger King. The entire way to Burger King I desperately tried to change his mind. “Are you sure you want to eat at Burger King? We can go anywhere you want. Cyrus? The French Laundry? Mary’s Pizza … again? Anywhere?” But Drew enjoyed his chicken tenders while I nibbled on a salad and was secretly thankful that Drew does not like French fries. Once at Scandia Drew and I sprinted through the mini golf course. I could see Drew’s excitement for the outing because he was so excited about what was to come next that he barely took in the present. After golf we tried our hand at arcade games.
I love these memories with my little ones. They grow up so fast and it is such a priority for me to consistently invest in my favorite twins.
