Dinner, Music, and Playing

We got invited to go to our friend Connor's house to eat a yummy dinner, play with all of his great toys, and have our first piano lesson. We had a fun night!

Connor explaining that safety and hard hats are an important part of being a toddler

San Francisco Zoo

I could have walked all the paths by myself without a map

Seriously what is this?

We stopped for a snack and check ed out some new swim moves from penguins

The steam train was super fun...but only Lilly asked to go again and Drew declined. We had a fabulously fun day!

Our first trip to the zoo

Drew...aren't you excited to finally see the monkies? My half cousin is here somewhere

Look up there at that monkey that is yelling at us Drew.
Lilly stop yelling in my ear please

I am not tall enough to see mommy. Where are all the animals anyway? Didn't you and daddy say we would see animals?

I did a lot of jumping off ledges.

We saw these brown bears up close. Can you come home to our house in Windsor? We can share a crib

Redemption

First things first...do you love my ridiculous socks that probably glow in the dark and really clash with my outfit for the day?

Secondly...I can answer questions like Drew too

A fruit that makes you happy??

If I would have known eating watermelon was this fun, I would have insisted we eat it every meal. How can Drew not like this? He is missing out

We've been practicing...well one of us has

Lilly pretty much failed this attempt, but we will try again with her later :-)

One is not enough

So one big dog just wasn't enough. I have been insisting on sleeping with my brother's too...

Let the countdown begin

Click on the box because I am technically challenged when it comes to computers

I have been dreaming about them and now they will be back in my living room Thursday at 9pm :)

Some one has discovered how to open doors

Mommy...you need to organize these shoes better

Maybe a Halloween Costume?

At least it counts as home made.

Aiplanes at the airport

We had to stay behind the fence because of some "danger" word

We watched planes take off and land. We sat nicely and were surprisingly stationary

I said bye-bye to all the planes.

The big planes were a little loud coming in and I wasn't sure what to think

Let's go the airport again. Maybe we can actually ride a plane one day mommy or daddy. Someday Drew and Lilly...but not any time soon

Tales from Substitute teaching

I have recently started to substitute teach once in a while

Setting: First Grade Classroom

During reading groups, two boys were singing, "beat it...beat it... beat it..."

Mrs. Petersen- "Oh you two like Michael Jackson"

Student- "You know Michael Jackson hasn't always been gay."

Mrs. Petersen (chuckling yet trying to maintain teacher status)- "Excuse me?"

Student- "Ya, my brother told me that he used to like girls."

Ahhhhhh, the perks of teaching ;-)

Blues Clues- Compare and Contrast

Study the Blues Clues video starring Steve. Then watch Lilly(and sort of Drew's) interpretation of the theme song...then you can compare and contrast yourself

Comparisons:
1. Some of Lilly's hand gestures are "close" to Steve's version of the song
2. Drew does fabulous jazz hands at the end of the song like Steve

Contrasts:
1. Steve is not eating while performing the Blues Clues theme song
2. Steve does not purposely stick his fingers in his ears to avoid hearing the music(my voice is not that bad Lilly)
3. We don't have a Blue dog. Just a Frankie.

Comments:
Hey....its way better than Teletubbies

Little Kickers

We tried out this place for "little kickers" and even though we are old enough to do it, mommy and daddy thinks we need to wait a little longer before we become true soccer players.
I learned how to do an over head throw and was pretty good at it.

I followed this giant bunny around the entire field and demanded to get in every picture even if it was strangers I was posing with. I don't have a problem with strangers (its really quite frightening how much Lilly doesn't care where her parents are in large group settings)

Well...shouldn't the bigness get the biggest ball on the field?

I chased after hula-hoops and never quite figured out how to throw them like the big people

So what if all do at every fun event where there are a thousand things to do is play with balloons? There is nothing wrong with that.

As long as the Big White bunny wasn't near me or the jumpy house I had fun. I don't get why Lilly likes that huge white bunny. She can have it all to herself. I would rather jump in this house and fall all day long than be within 20 feet of the big bunny.

Big Towels

When you are almost two years old, you use adult size towels.

The Beach- take two

So it was a much nicer day this time we went to the beach. SEE...

Drew's reaction to seeing the ocean

Lilly's reaction to the same sight

Lilly seemed to do a lot of this type of activity during our time at the beach...

Even as mouth watering and tempting it might have been, no sand was eaten this day....besides the sand that blows into your yogurt or snack you are eating :)

More Beach

I started throwing bullpen to my dad.

The infamous throwing picture

Drew fell asleep on the way home as the only "nap" that day...

And mommy and daddy bribed me with Chocolate Chip cookies to stay quiet and not wake him up. It was a good day.
